Alexander Valley

Alexander Valley is an important and respected source of premium wine grapes for wineries throughout California. It has received formal recognition as an American Viticultural area in 1984. Alexander Valley is twenty miles in length, varying in width from two to seven miles.

Alexander Valley encompasses approximately 75,000 acres. Over 13,000 of those acres are currently planted to premium wine grapes. The valley grows many varietals for diversity and high quality.

History of the Valley
Founded in 1982, the Alexander Valley Winegrowers' mission is to increase awareness of and appreciation for the uniqueness of Alexander Valley and the quality of wines produced there. The region's wineries and grape growers have joined together to share their special histories, traditions, and innovations with visitors. People come from all over the globe to sample their world class wines.

In addition to varietals commonly associated with this appellation, such as Cabernet, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Chardonnay, Alexander Valley's growers and wineries produce many other varietals. These further enhance the region's reputation for diversity and high quality.
