The Bar Harbor Hotel Guide--Lodging in the Heart of Maine
Set against the coastline, Bar Harbor is a picturesque piece of Americana. This tranquil little town evokes memories of little league games, snow cones and lazy days fishing under a tree. Truly, this is a place where a soul can sit down and rest.

Although traditional major chain lodging options do exist here, and they are great, you might want something a little more authentic. Bed and Breakfasts and restored Victorian houses offer visitors the comforts of a modern hotel, with a classy, personal touch.

Step off the Beaten Path
Many visitors to Bar Harbor take Route 3 to their various destinations. That's a fine choice, but if you're not careful, you might miss something really special.

For instance, off of Route 102 is the sleepy little village known as Town Hill. It has been a part of New England for a long time. It used to be called New Eden, and it's a perfect place to spend a day. Filled with artists' shops, cottages and restaurants, you'll find plenty of ways to pass the time. As the sun sets, you can listen to the drum and pipe corps practice.

Don't Forget Our National Park
The home to a variety of wildlife, Acadia was actually the first national park established east of the Mississippi. With granite mountain peaks, woods, lakes, ponds, and the shoreline, it's a must-see for those that appreciate the beauty and diversity of nature.
