Sedona pictures don't quite do the place justice. Looking at the rocky spires around Sedona is such a breathtaking and moving experience that it has to be felt as much as seen. It's akin to witnessing a living, natural work of art. Sedona really is one of the most beautiful places on earth--possibly the most underrated since it doesn't get the attention of the Grand Canyon.
It is also one of the most popular spots for professional nature photography: you'll snap red rock formations, the streams and rapids, spectacular sunsets, wildflowers, and more. Most people wouldn't normally think of fall colors on the west coast or in a desert environment, but Sedona also has some beautiful fall colors in autumn.
Personal Nature Photography--Photo Ops Abound in Sedona
What this means is that you shouldn't forget your camera if you're going on a Sedona vacation. Many vacation photos consist of a person standing in front of a famous monument or attraction. I would recommend taking a picture of the nature alone, as well as family portraits. The nature itself has a kind of personality, and you never know when photographs will turn out well enough to be enlarged and framed.
At better inns and hotels, you may be able to take nature pictures from your front porch. Sedona may be most beautiful in the early morning, when everything is still and quiet. It is a majestic scene to wake up to, and it's all the better if it's right out your front window. Not all hotels have the same views--some hotel websites may have pictures online showing what the view is from different rooms. If you're interested in photography, it's worth a visit to a prospective hotel's website to check out their views. If they've got a good one, they'll advertise that fact.
