Sedona family resorts cater to many different needs. If your family wants to visit Sedona and experience a Wild West atmosphere, there are resorts that specialize in horseback riding--a bit like the movie City Slickers, but without roughing it so much. These resorts can handle advanced riders or someone who's never seen a horse up close.
Most all resorts in Sedona are family oriented. While they have golf and other activities for adults, there may also be a game room for kids. Certainly any hotel pool is a focal point for families. In addition, there may be a number of different restaurants in a particular resort--one which may be more dimly-lit and romantic and one that caters to families with young children.
Family Accommodations
Resorts or resort-style hotels are better for those traveling with a group or a family. Smaller lodgings, such as bed and breakfasts, are usually limited in the number of rooms they offer, and the rooms don't usually connect (as they do in most hotels or resorts). Also, bed and breakfasts are by and large meant for couples. Larger motels and hotels will have two beds in a room or, better yet, be able to provide two adjacent rooms. You'll definitely have more flexibility when you choose a hotel or resort.
Resorts are very used to children and their special needs. Smaller boutique hotels or bed and breakfasts may offer food that's a little sophisticated for children's tastes. Most quality resorts have a complete complementary breakfast--both for children as well as adults. This is an easy and convenient way to start the day, guaranteed to satisfy the pickiest eaters.
