Generally speaking, when you are planning a vacation it is always best to secure roundtrip airfare. Despite the fact that many travel agents and airline companies offer inexpensive one way tickets, I wholeheartedly recommend that travelers spend the extra dollars for a return trip. The Benefits of Roundtrip Airfare:
From what I've noticed, the travel deal du jour seems to be one way airfare offered at incredibly low rates. From budget airlines such as and Jet Blue to larger ones like British Airways, it seems as though everywhere you look there are deals for one way tickets all over the world. And while I must admit the low prices do seem tempting, these deals are not always what they are cracked up to be.
Right now as I write this, British Airways is offering a $99 one-way ticket from New York to London. Sounds pretty unbeatable, right? Wrong. While it only costs $99 to get there, it costs quite a bit more to get back. American Airlines, on the other hand, is currently offering a special roundtrip deal to London for just over $300. For me, the extra $200 for this ticket is worth it - if only for the peace of mind.
In my experience, roundtrip airfare is always worth the extra money.
