The hardest part about planning a cruise vacation, in my opinion, is selecting the right cruise line. In my experience, a cruise can be either heavenly or horrendous depending on the ship. That is why I recommend that anyone thinking about going on a cruise first do a little investigative work on the various cruise lines available.
Finding the Best Cruise Lines:
Before you can choose a cruise line, it helps to know the type of cruise you want to take. If, for instance, you are planning a family cruise and/or want to bring the kids along, then I would recommend a Disney cruise line. Disney cruises are great because they expertly accommodate both adults and children. Also, Disney ships have access to several private islands that other cruise ships do not.
Another thing to consider when choosing a cruise line is where you are planning to take your cruise. If you are thinking about taking a cruise to Alaska, for instance, look for ships that are properly insulated and offer a wide variety of things to do on board. Since you most likely won't be swimming and/or sunbathing during your Alaska cruise, make sure that you can find other this to do during the trip!
