Bargain Flights

Sometimes finding bargain flights means going a little bit off-the-beaten path. In other words, to find a cheap flight, look at the non-national or international carriers. These airlines have competitive prices that can be much cheaper than those bigger airlines. These are also called "no-frills" airlines.

Airlines that Offer Bargain Flights
The airlines that offer bargain flights generally fly within the continent. So if you are traveling domestically in the United States, check for these airlines on the Internet. If you are flying between countries in Europe, you should also consider finding flights on these types of airlines. Continental or domestic airlines usually offer much better prices for the same distance as the bigger airlines.

One thing to be aware of these bargain flights, however, is that they offer considerably less perks than the bigger air carriers. That means that oftentimes meals are not served, there are no movies, and seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sometimes these airlines require a stopover rather than a direct flight, which would add a few hours to travelling. The money saved, however, might be worth those sacrifices.

This is not to say that the service on these bargain airlines is any less than the bigger airlines. If you look online for some of the top low cost airlines, they have won many awards for their service, beating out their bigger counterparts. Contrary to popular belief, these airlines are also not cramped and dirty or fit any stereotype associated with cheap flying. The term "no frills" simply means that the extra perks seen on larger carriers are left out.
