Finding bargain airfares sometimes means looking out of the mainstream. That is, instead of looking at national airlines, check out the smaller airlines. These are called "no-frills" airlines. "No-frills" airlines have competitive prices that are much cheaper than those bigger airlines.
"No-Frills" Bargain Airfares
"No-frills" or bargain airlines do not offer the same perks as their bigger counterparts. They do not serve meals but rather snacks or beverages, they do not show movies, and seating is usually dependent on when you arrive. Flights sometimes require stopovers instead of flying directly to a destination. For some people, however, saving the money is worth giving up those perks.
The term bargain does not necessarily mean that the services is any less than what you would find on a bigger airline. That means that they have friendly service and are comfortable, clean and safe. They are just without the movie or the meal services. These are small sacrifices to make for bargain airfares.
"No-frills" airlines are generally a good idea if you are planning to fly a short distance. They allow more or less the same services for less money. To make matters better, these bargain airlines also offer special deals, further cutting down prices. If you are willing to take a few cuts in travel comfort, then bargain airfares may be a good way to go.
